To the Centaurus Ice Skating Club web site. The first ice skating club web site in New Zealand. Founded in 1951 the club took its name from the original ice rink in Christchurch sited in Centaurus Road at the foot of the Cashmere Hills. Our aim is to promote, encourage, and advance ice skating and anyone is welcome to join.

Centaurus is the only ice skating club in Christchurch for Free, Dance and Synchronized Skating.  Centaurus conducts, promotes and participates in competitions within the Club, with other South Island skating clubs and in National competitions.

Centaurus has won interclub shields many times and has a proud record of having its members selected to represent New Zealand overseas in freeskate, dance, synchronized and speed competitions. At present we can claim to be New Zealand's leading club, having won the inter club trophies at both the South Island and National championships every year since 2001.

Members range in age from pre schoolers to superannuitants, and from new to experienced skaters. They include local, regional and national champions, current and retired.
